butterfly: (Election - Fraser/RayK)
First off, I'm supporting the Fraser/Kowalski ticket in the Fandom Escapist Election. Fraser and Kowalski -- they'll liase the hell out of each other and you.

On a different note, yesterday I went down to Klamath Falls to see my brother play in the Klamath Symphony. Apparently it's the best volunteer symphony in Oregon. They are very good -- it was a collaborative concert that featured a performance by a local ballet group. They played Romeo and Juliet's Fantasy Overture and I actually wiped away tears a few times. Really excellent.

Then, when I got back here, I watched Mountie on the Bounty with my mom. Watching the argument near the beginning, she told me (without prompting!) that they sounded like a married couple. She very much enjoyed the episode -- she loves Francesca (I think that Frannie's her favorite character) and Fraser and Ray (she has seen Vecchio, as I showed her the pilot movie first, but doesn't like him anywhere near as much as Kowalski). She's looking forward to seeing more.

Lots of fun. And now, I will face my flist and find out what happened over the weekend.

I'm collating data, as they say. Specifically, I'm checking up on the habits of Ray and Fraser and how they change after they've associated a while. Their basic pattern of interaction adapts throughout the episodes -- example, Ray only calls Fraser a freak in the first two episodes. That's it. Just Burning Down the House and Eclipse, two episodes that occur in quick succession, that are set before the two truly know each other, that are about the two getting to know each other. Therefore, it would not be strictly accurate to have a significantly post-Eclipse Ray calling Fraser a freak.

These are the types of things that I blame on having a mom that's a librarian (Fraser shares some of the same impulses and he, too, was raised by librarians). I'm kinda like RayK, but I'm also kinda like Fraser. I want to collect these things, put them somewhere. Have the information easily available.

I just found out from my mom that we have relatives in Montreal -- she just found out about them two years ago. And recently I've been thinking of visiting Canada. If I did, I might be able to visit them -- they told my mom that she had an open invitation.

I'm thinking maybe of taking French next term (or fall might be better, timing-wise) -- I did have two years of it in high school, but that's hardly enough to be considered even close to bilingual.
butterfly: (Writing - due South)
Someday, I need to write that Huey=Fraser, Louie=RayV, Dewey=RayK essay.

Title: Stories (Bounty Hunter)
Summary: Ray reminisces and then worries.
Pairing: Eventual Ray/Fraser (some Ray/Stella)
Rating: PG
Author's Notes: Sixth part in a twenty-four part series. They are, in essence, post-episode ficlets from RayK's perspective.
Disclaimer: I don't own a thing. Well, there's the computer I'm writing on. I also have a moderate collection of books. And... ah, yes, I own none of the characters mentioned in this story. That would be Alliance Atlantis and the Pauls. Ah, and I attempted to be Chicago-location accurate but if a mistake is noticed, I'd love to know about it, as I've never been anywhere in Chicago apart from the airport.

It was a total freak accident... )
