Requesting a long-term beta reader:
Mar. 27th, 2004 11:24 pmSo, I have a fic idea. It's yet another really long fanfic series to add to my list of WIP series.
It would be an AU rewrite of Season Three of Angel. Gunn-pov, starting in That Old Gang of Mine. Taking at its base one fundamental change and using that to see what changes and what stays the same in season three to five.
It's called Door Number Two and I've been tentatively plotting out the way the basic Angel storyline changes based off of this change.
But I really want to bounce the story idea and changes (and god, when I seriously start writing, Gunn's voice, which I kinda hate myself for picking, but it's the only way that it'll work and I really want to write this fic) off of at least one other person.
Honestly, I've seen what wonders betas work with other stories, so I'd love someone willing to work with me on my other stuff too. Fandom-specific, genre specific, character-specific etc. I'd just love to have a few more pairs of eyes looking at my work. Currently, only one fic that I've ever written has been beta'd. All the rest were only ever revised by myself.
Let me know here, or email me at butterfly_in_motion@hotmail.com (use 'beta reader' as the subject).
I have four other major 'in progress' series (Perfect Possible, Broken Road, The Journey, and Erasing the Line -- all BtVS/AtS fic) that I want to plot on (plot being my weak point). I have short stories that I'd love to get beta'd. I wouldn't throw all of that onto one person, or all at once, but I would love to get some of it looked at. I've just never been sure how exactly one goes about getting a steady beta.
On a totally different subject, I'm thinking of going to VividCon this year. I adore watching vids and Chicago is my dad's hometown. I would love to get away for a few days to see the city my dad grew up in. And the idea of meeting fandom people is pretty damn appealing, too. I've only ever been to one fandom con (I don't really count the ST Cons that I've been to with my folks, because they were all local and... with my folks.).
