So, I have plans to write a S5 Connor essay at some point. I'm not writing it yet, but I'm outlining. I'm pretending that I'm writing the essay now, so that when I do, I have the structure. And of course, I know no spoilers, so any speculation about episodes past Why We Fight is just that - if I'm totally wrong, then I'm totally wrong.

Yes, I'm a huge dork. Let's move on.

First off, let's set the terms.

There are many ways to view Connor, but for me, it all comes down to one thing - Connor is the physical embodiment of all of Angel's hopes.

That's fairly depressing, especially in light of this season. Angel's hopes are missing - erased by his own choices.

Oh, and we've had a mention of forgiveness this season.

Harmony: "Forgive and forget, I say! It's the Golden Rule."
Gunn: "These guys are not gonna forgive, and they're definitely not gonna forget until we figure out-"
- Harm's Way

On a totally different topic, I need a new job. Not because my old one is in any danger of being lost, but because I'm increasingly being put off by the fast food industry in general. Burgerville may be one of the healthiest fast food places, but that doesn't make it healthy. Fried is fried. I had pizza tonight and I've been increasingly put off by that, too. Anticipating having pizza is more yummy than having one, at this point.

I just got Season Three of Angel. The Season that I Missed Most of. The Season that I Didn't Record. The Season that I Must Watch, Now.

*twirls*

And I like both Cordy and Angel, so I can leap head-first into the C/A thing. And Connor! Little baby Connor! Then Teen Connor! Darla! Wes' fall! Lilah! No Lindsey, but one can't have everything.

Yay!

You know, I'm looking forward to Season Five on dvd if for no other reason than not having Cordy on the cover. Of course, Spike will be there instead of Wes, I'm sure, but at least, for one bloody season, it won't be Cordy.

Right, in Tomorrow, when Angel catches Connor in the first "Balance, you lose that, you lose" scene - compare that to how he holds Connor in Home. There are so many tells of where Connor is going to end up.

And the importance of balance is mentioned in both Tomorrow and Home, each season ending with a huge imbalance.

Ah, and Connor re: Cordy as of Tomorrow - "She's beautiful."
