butterfly: (Hope - Buffy)
The Fallen cd has given me multiple vid bunnies for future consideration.

Going Under: Buffy vs. the World. This would be Buffy up to the end of The Gift. The Buffy who is wondering whether or not this world that asks her to give up her very humanity is worth saving anymore. She's challenging the world to give her another solution.
lyrics (with vid thoughts) )

Bring me to Life: Basically, I'd like to do my icon set in vid form. I'd just look up the clips from those scenes and use them.

Everybody's Fool: A Jasmine vid! Definitely. Going through her beginnings to her end. And it's Jasmine as object. She's the 'you' of the song. It's really perfect.
more specifics (and lyrics) )

My Immortal: Spike/Buffy, perhaps. If it were, I'd only have it go through his soulless period. I've also considered Willow/Tara, set first after Tara leaves, then after a brief respite, moves to after Tara's death, with flashbacks.
lyrics )

Haunted: I was thinking Angel(us)/Darla. Season two with flashbacks.
lyrics )

Tourniquet: Connor. Poor, poor Connor.
lyrics )

Imaginary: Fred's song. Mix up brutal reality with her idealized love with Gunn and suchlike.
lyrics )

Taking over Me: The only song that I haven't had vid thoughts for. There just isn't a couple that one-sided that I've seen.

Hello: Sixth season Dawn.
lyrics )

My Last Breath: Tara, Seeing Red interspersed with flashbacks.
lyrics )

Whisper: Sixth and Seventh Season Buffy.

While I'm in a vid-ish mood, I should recommend some vids.

Sleepwalker (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
vid by Wendy

Bittersweet (mostly bittersad, really) Buffy/Xander, has source up to Storyteller. This vid has a lot of artist cuts and repeats that really go with the sound of the song. And there's a sadness that just... resonates. "Cupid, don't draw back your bow." There's a sense of loving and knowing that it's hopeless and wishing that you could stop but... you can't. Some many places where the motion is perfectly on beat. Anyway, it makes me want to cry, so I should share.

Oh! Just realized that I've never officially recommended a particular vid.

Kryptonite (Andromeda)
vid by JM Torres

This vid (which is Rhade/Dylan) is just brilliant. Every moment is perfect. I love the relationship between Rhade and Dylan as portrayed here. And there are just some gorgeous sequences. Even if you don't watch Andromeda, you should see this vid. It's just that good.

Fallen, the cd by Evanescence is amazing. Definitely worth the money. And this is less a review and more me going, "Eee! Love this!"

butterfly: (Naked Angel)
I feel all chatty tonight. So, y'all get subjected to be yattering on about writing and suchlike.
specifics about the drabble sets )
Each drabble was rewritten several times. Every drabble that I write is exactly 100 words. While I don't always hold others to the same standard, for my own work, a drabble isn't a drabble unless it's 100 words. Which means that some phrases have to change because there isn't enough room.

My purpose in writing these drabbles is three-fold:
1) To explore and establish character voice.
2) To challenge myself by keeping to the limit of 100 words.
3) Because it's a lot of fun to do.

Being able to use the 'naked Angel' icon is just a bonus.
