butterfly: (Kicking ass - due South)
Will be going to my dad's on Saturday, then over to [livejournal.com profile] jic's on Sunday. There will be much due Southage.

I'm bringing eps 3-6 (Manhunt, They Eat Horses, Don't They?, Pizza and Promises, Chinatown) for my dad, since I'm watching the show in order with him. (I did show him BDtH and Eclipse right after the Pilot though. He, too, prefers RayK.)

For Jo, I'm bringing the Pilot, Gift of the Wheelman, Bird in the Hand, Juliet is Bleeding (which I keep calling Juliet Lies Bleeding for some unknown reason), Some Like It Red, Burning Down the House, Eclipse, Asylum, Mountie on the Bounty, The Ladies' Man, and Call of the Wild. We'll watch the Kowalski eps first, then go through the Vecchio's if we have time.

But next time I see it, it'll be for two reasons.

As confirmed by Tim Minear and Glenn's website, he died earlier this week (people have said Monday, his site says Tuesday), cause of death unreleased.

His incredible talent and wonderful charm caused his character Doyle's absence on Angel to be felt even to this day.

He'll be missed as an actor and as a person.

due South

Just rewatched Victoria's Secret and then watched Letting Go and North. Blind!Fraser is not to be missed. And these are some of Vecchio's finest moments.

Fraser: "You should take the deal."
Ray: "I haven't been offered one."
Fraser: "You should take it anyway."
Ray: "Hey, Benny: not in your lifetime."

And Ben is so achingly human in Victoria's Secret and Letting Go. The Victoria thing really rips him up, down, and sideways.

And the thing he says to his dad about his mother: "I mean, you never saw who she was. You never saw her when she was angry, you never saw her when she was frightened, you never saw her when she was brave or when she was petty. You never saw her." That part just hits me.
