That line made me chuckle. Not a "YAY Funny!" chuckle. Not exactly a happy chuckle either. Much more of a sad chuckle really.
Yeah. It's... hard. Originally, it started out as more of a Daniel-Teal'c story and then I realized that there was no way I could actually write that conversation. That would be one of the suckiest conversations ever for Daniel, which is saying a lot.
Anyway I enjoyed the story very very much. More please.
