Oh, we were given all sorts of warnings and had to sign waivers and such. He was a sweetheart, though. They also impressed on us the importance of washing hands and making sure that we didn't come in if we were feeling sick. It's a really well-run zoo, the Oregon Zoo.
When I was about 12, I accidentally bought porn at the local newsagent. It was a paperback called "Bad Day for a Black Brother" and I thought it was about black power, but it was basically a crime porno novel. I hid it, read it, and then, because there was no way I could throw a book in the bin, passed it on to a girl in the year above me!
