I don't really have much to say about either Glee or Bones. But I do have some thoughts on last night's Smallville.
First off, it was hilarious and wonderful to see Michael Shanks on screen doing Daniel Jackson-type things. ILU, Smallville.
Michael and Erica have a lot of nice chemistry and I loved their scenes together. I love how quickly he figured out that she knew the truth about Clark and, because of his own unique love situation, he's very capable of understanding both how amazing and how painful love can be. So, all the Hawkman & Lois scenes, I loved to bits. If I could draw little glittery hearts around those scenes, I would.
I loved Clark's growth in this episode as someone willing to trust the other people in his life to make their own decisions. It was something that he wasn't able to do with Lana - he was frequently deciding that her choice was wrong and something that he needed to try to change. He's grown up and him being willing to accept that the people in his life can make their own decisions without him helping them out - and him trusting their decisions, is a good step toward Superman, plus it gives a believable reason for why he isn't going out looking for Chloe, which is good because I believe that Allison Mack is only in a few episodes this season.
I also loved Cat Grant and Tess, and all the Daily Planet stuff. Cat was prickly and fluffy (ha! Very much like a cat) and she had the right vibe toward Clark and toward the superheroes that a Cat Grant should have. And I really liked the actress. Cat's views on vigilantes and on what is acceptable in the light v. the dark, seems to be driving Clark toward everything Superman (Lois said 'Superman' this episode! Yay! Looking forward to her actively saying that about Clark), which is awesome.
Anyway, loved the episode.
