Battlestar Galactica: Blood on the Scales

butterflyAdama really does believe that law shouldn't apply to him, doesn't he?
I think that one of the things that bothers me is how smug Adama is in his self-righteousness. Not only does he act like he's the only person allowed to make the rules, not only does he act like he is the ultimate barometer of loyalty and goodness, he also does it all with this air of superiority that would, if I knew him in real life, would make me decide never to spend time with him (I'd certainly never trust my life to him). He also does that annoying thing where he expects everyone to immediately agree with him even though he offers no proof that he's right -- he doesn't bother doing this even when he does have proof that he's right.
Was the meta-point of the rebellion an excuse for the writers to knock off the Quorum and make the Adama/Roslin partnership a true dictatorship?
Also, Roslin was... yeah, I'll avoid talking about that except to mention that she scared a Six.
Still *heart* Tyrol. Very good on him, the not-getting-killed. I approve of that. And he did possibly the single most useful thing in the entire episode and managed to do something that involved no violence at all (what a novel concept!). He had a really great scene with Kelly, too.
All the Cyclons made me happy this episode, in a general way.
I also enjoyed Lee and Kara.
Gaius continues to slowly grow as a person. *pets him*
Kara's very violent. And Lee was very clever there.
"Never pulled the pin."
"Not funny."
"Would've been if you'd thought of it."
"No. Not funny."
I do wish they weren't, you know, supporting a dictatorship, but there you go.
Felt so bad for Gaeta, who didn't see that partnering up with Zarek was a stupid idea that was bound to lead to dead people (though I wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly because I always thought Zarek had more brains than that -- they were right about Adama, after all). He really did want justice. I feel so badly for him and have so much sympathy for his cause. Don't really mind Zarek getting killed, but I hated seeing it happen to Gaeta. Wonderful ending scene with Baltar.
On the plus side, Ellen next time means awesome (at least for the bits that she's in it). Ellen is consistently awesome.
