I feel like I'm a flower trying to bloom in snow.
The Tower premiered in Nearly New. The movie it was made out of (Loving Annabelle) is a movie out of the Gay/Lesbian section of netflix. I think it may have been one of the 'gay movies where no one dies' that were rec'd to me, but it might be something that netflix recommended to me based on what I was watching. Basically, the plotline is what you see in the vid -- there are two women, one a teacher and one a student. They fall in love. The teacher gets arrested.
It's a beautiful movie. Some of the dialogue could be better, but it's very beautifully done. Both Annabelle and Simone are characters that I came out of the movie caring about and when I was listening to some Vienna Teng, inspiration struck. The Tower was originally a song that I thought might be about Lois Lane (though, musically, I'd decided that it was a little too gentle), but it fit Simone so much better.
Tech-wise, I didn't do much apart from general brightening/contrast. I cut off half of the bridge because I didn't want a certain line in it. In general, this vid was much less complicated to make than It's Not Over. It's pretty, though, and it also says exactly what I wanted it to say, so I consider it a success.
I'd actually originally planned to go with one of the other GLBT movies that I've made vids for, but when It's Not Over hit me with the force of a sledgehammer (stealing the show from the River vid I was originally toying with doing for Premieres), I went ahead with this one instead, so that I'd have a female presence in one of my premiering vids.
