The greatest thing you'll ever learn...

Moulin Rouge still makes me cry at the end.

Ewan fucking McGregor, man. Of course, Baz is partly to blame, since he doesn't have a problem with actors seriously crying (see: Romeo and Juliet for more ugly and real crying from a Baz film). And Nicole is perfect in this, truly. Gorgeous and tragic and, dude, her skin glows.

I've seen this film... I couldn't possibly count the number of times. And yet, it captures me each time. I laugh and weep with just as much fervor as the first time I saw it in theaters. It's such an intensely cathartic movie -- it gives you permission to feel on an epic scale.

It's beautiful isn't it?

Do you know, I only watched it because I asked someone if it had a happy ending and they said yes! OK, I'm glad I watched it, but still!

God yes. I LOVE that film. Absolute word to all of this. I'd quite like an icon from it. *used to have one* It's got to be one of my favorite films.

EVERY time there's this rush of joy when they're in love and the storm of crying at the end and all the other emotions in between, it's lovely.

I keep trying to watch that film and I just get bored. I think that indicates that there is something wrong with me but I'm glad you like it so much.

Such a wonderful movie. I choke up every time I see it (oh, Ewan, with the sobbing. Sooo painful), and I've seen it many, many times.

And Ewan singing "Come What May" with the hat and the smile and the "guh"--just perfection.

"Come What May" was the first dance at our wedding. Yeah, I might be a bit obsessed with it, too.

It's just so beautiful and romantic. Such beautiful set and costume design, such lovely musical numbers, such silly comedy, such powerful drama. Love it.
