Blood Ties: Pilot

Those of you who recommended that I watch this show totally get gold stars. I found every minute of the pilot episode incredibly enjoyable. Christina Cox is fabulous as Vicki. I love Henry and I think he's possibly the cutest vampire I've ever met (he's like a fluffy puppy! I kept wanting to ruffle his hair.), though he projects this great aura of menace when he needs it. Plus, (OMG!) it has Doug! Or, rather, it has Dylan Neal, who played Doug Witter on Dawson's Creek.

Now I want to go watch the rest of the series (and read the book series that it's based on).

I watch Blood Ties! It's very pretty! Henry is awesome, and there are not enough characters named Henry.

The fourth episode was as dank as dank could be, but don't let it detour you. Other than that, it's quite enjoyable.

It's really not a very common fictional name. And he's so great. The show itself has a tendency towards abrupt plot endings, which don't bother me so much as I'm more interested in the characters anyway.

I'm glad I picked the show up. Hope that it'll be around next season.

It really isn't, and it's such a nice name.

I've been thinking about trying the books on for size, but I haven't heard very good things about them.

I just finished reading the first book and I did like the pilot episode of Blood Ties more. Celluci is more a jerk in the books. I like Dylan's take on him much better than the original. And from just reading the books, I don't get the same chemistry from Vicki and Henry as I do in the show.

I'm probably going to check out and skim through the other books, but as it stands, I prefer the show.

Oh, it's so wonderful to have a person on my friendlist who now also watches this show! I decided to give it a try not so long ago and it consumed me. :D I love it when there are lots of interesting characters, this show is definitely the case.

It's a great show (incidentally, where did you get that icon?). The characters are stellar -- they picked such great actors for it.

I'm a member of various Blood Ties communities on LJ, I get my icons from there. ;)

Yep, the actors are a total fit, I've seen every episode except for S2 finale, now I have to wait a loooooooong time to see that, lol!

[livejournal.com profile] bloodties_icons will be the biggest icon-based one. :)

The series is good, but the books are great! I heartily endorse both. *grins*

I've picked up the first two books from the library. I'll have to get used to Henry being a redhead, though! Visually, that's pretty different.

I love the series and the books are really good.
I'm really pleased that they kept the Canadian-ness of the books, and didn't try to make the characters into Americans. (silly of me, but so many shows made here fake the US, it's a nice change).
Henry is definitely quite nummy..

Yeah, it's really cool that it's set in Canada. I appreciate that about the show.

And Henry is absolutely gorgeous.
