Stargate SG-1 (That Casting Spoiler)


So, apparently RDA will be in two episodes in S9 (scroll down). The first and the third.

I'm... very happy.

Okay, I still haven't stopped grinning.

Yeah, I haven't seen the end of Moebius. Yeah, I could completely hate what they end up doing to his character.

But eee! Yay. Two episodes (at least). This makes me a happy butterfly.

Well, that's good to know. I really hope it's more than the first and third, but at least he's not saying he never wants to set foot on the set again (which is what I was starting to thing). Thanks :-D

Yeah, I was really thrilled to find out that we'd see him.

I think that he had to leave though, because the writers weren't listening to him at all (much like they ignored MS in S5, from what I've been able to find out). RDA wanted his character to be promoted so that he would have less to film and could spend more time with his daughter and instead they still had 'wall-to-wall' Jack.

He was also displeased about them delving into Jack's personal life in Threads, too, from comments he's made -- apparently, he's the one who kept Jack from becoming the stereotypical ladies' man leader. It's their own fault for (once again) not listening to an actor's fairly simple requests. Do these people not learn from their mistakes?

I have quite a lot of respect for RDA, the more I find out about him.

Michael mentioned that he'd just been filming with RDA.

So, we can hope.

Plus, he talked about how Jack and Sam have not run off, gotten married, and had kids. As far as he knows. Plus, AT is apparently not in the first five episodes, so it may be that Jack appears in two of the Sam-less episodes.

That's excellent news. It seemed odd, given that he's been with the show for eight years and appears to have a not-terribly-contentious relationship with everyone involved, that he'd want to close that door completely.

And, you know, much as I love Other Casting Spoiler, this is something a little more concrete to look forward to. :)

*whew* OK, I'm running way behind on my flist, and have just now come across this. Thank you *so* much for reporting this. I'm so relieved.

I was just watching last night's season 1 & episodes and really, really remembering how much I love Jack and not looking forward to missing him in season 9.

And, OK. Wrong Jack in the icon, but still a Jack, so. :-) Need to get me a Jack O'Neill icon, clearly.
