Sci-fi Friday was enjoyable. Perhaps I'll have thoughts on it later.

For now, I just want to say that I really wanted Lord Rathbone to win in Shanghai Knights. He was smart and ruthless, and also a man of his word. He had his own sense of honor... it just wasn't one that happened to include not murdering his family. Okay, so he wasn't perfect.

The first time that I watched the movie, it was merely to check out the apparently really gay vibe between Owen and Jackie Chan (conclusion: yeah, there's quite a bit of one). This time, I actually watched the movie. And... Nelson Rathbone has style and arrogance and, being played by Aidan Gillen, he's also really hot. And his character was a much better sword fighter than Jackie Chan's! How many times did he win in that last fight? Only to die when Jackie's character changed the rules. I kept telling Rathbone to stop giving Jackie's character so many chances, but he kept giving the sword back.

His arrogance was his downfall.

Oh, yeah, Owen Wilson brings a gay vibe to pretty much every buddy movie he's in. The man has way too much UST with his own brother in every movie they've been in together. It's weird.

So, it isn't so much that Shanghai Knights is gay, in and of itself, but that Owen Wilson radiates gay.

I see.
