Women and fandom

I don't think that I'm actually going to sign up for it, for a couple of reasons (one of them being that my summer finals are next week and I really need to not distract myself from them and it's easy enough to do that as it is). But many of the female characters that I love are characters that have been vocally-hated by sections of their fandoms - Lois, Rose, Gwen, Fred, etc - so I'm glad that lots of them are going to be getting public love.

ETA: Explanatory note about origins, purpose, and plan for what will happen in the comm.

Right now, they most seem to be spamming with characters, but I don't see any discussion.

What's the spam about, then? Are people supposed to reply to the entries related to the characters they are interested in?
