Doctor Who: Casting News

Apparently, we're getting Donna back! Yay!

I loved Donna (and this means that we don't have to go over "it's bigger on the inside" again!). Donna grew so much over the course of The Runaway Bride. Plus, she had absolutely no sexual/romantic interest in the Doctor. Plus! She knows about Rose. There is nothing bad here.

I am entirely made of squee at the moment!

Donna! Yay!

Ha! Yes. It's all 'yay' for me. And I liked Donna a lot by the end of TRB. Actually, I think she won me over when she winked at the Doctor at her wedding reception (when she was 'crying').

Even in the first scene, when she's mostly being overwrought, she actually does calm down and just... notice that he's all sad and quiet. "What do you mean, gone? Gone where?"

She was quite a strong, interesting character by the snow scene. I loved that she knew he was leaving. Oh, and when she asks if she'll see him again, he says, "If I'm lucky." Luck! Luck was associated with the Doctor in early S2 -- he's lucky to regrow his hand, if he's 'very, very, very lucky' he'll be able to get home to the TARDIS and Rose in Girl. He was very lucky, back when he was travelling with Rose. And then he lost her and he hasn't had much luck in S3, but Donna coming back. Oh, and him being thrown a life-preserver at the end of tLotTL, mustn't forget that.

Oh, I should not get my hopes up.

Well, no. There's nothing wrong with getting my hopes up. I shan't get my expectations up. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, as they say.

*nods* I'll always be hoping that the Doctor can find his way to Rose. But as far as the practicality of it - I'm thinking that if BP were to return, or even make an appearance, they'd be promoting the hell out of it rather than keeping it secret.

Indeed. They probably would be all -- "Billie Piper is currently filming her triumphant return to Who!" and talking it up all over the place. BP coming back would make for hella good press.
