Saw two movies: 17 Again and Wolverine
Note for Jossverse fans: 17 Again has Dawn (Michelle T.) as the main character's daughter. That was an unexpected thrill. Now, for the movie itself, I had a blast. The bulk of the movie is on Zac Efron's shoulders and he does a terrific job with it. He's a talented guy. And here, he was charming and funny (he was giving a better Matthew Perry than Matthew Perry).
I really liked that Mike (Zac/Matthew's character), while briefly believing that he was turned young in order to 'take the other path', was first helping his kids and realized that he needs them in his life maybe more than they need him. I loved the way the romance with Scarlet was handled (I really liked that Mike never had a moment of being attracted to the high school girls and was, in fact, squicked when they came onto him). When he goes to the courthouse and 'reads' his letter to her (under the guise of Mike sending it), Zac did such a gorgeous job. Mike's love for Scar was so shining and beautiful and, finally, selfless.
The contrast between his character's way of being a basketball star (refusing to take a picture until his best friend Ned (a very geeky kid) was there) versus Stan's way (being a big bully) was glaring and very helpful in showing that Mike, though he lost his way for a while and didn't appreciate what he had, was a decent guy at heart. He just needed to see the true worth of his life.
Wolverine was much as expected from the trailer: Nifty special effects and action, with the expected Dead Girl in his past. That said, I did really enjoy the movie. The relationship with Logan and Victor was well-drawn, and I did really like Kayla (though, wow, going on about the moon being about a love that "can't touch" threw my brain out of the movie and into a Wolverine/Rogue headspace).
I was filled with squee over young!Scott Summers and loved that he led them the right way out because he heard Professor Xavier's voice in his head (and was amused at the teamwork between him and I do believe that was Emma Frost. Bwah.). Gambit was heroic yet pragmatic, so that worked for me. Wade was, though kinda ruthless and not all that good, funny and charming, so it was so sad to see him as Deadpool, his mouth stopped up.

I can't wait to see Wolverine though. I saw the workprint that was leaked but I kind of want to see the version with all the special effects!
