Meme: What shows are you watching?

Here's an interesting article about how we all watch different TV shows (and that's okay).

I've often had that 'are we even watching the same show?' feeling when reading other people's reactions to a variety of different TV shows. So, here are the shows that I'm watching:

With Battlestar Galactica, I watch and enjoy "Lee + Democracy = OTP (because he and Roslin broke up)", "Baltar, the Insane Messiah", "Everyone Loves Six", "The Many Faces of Sharon Valerii (and the men who love her)", and "Kara Thrace is Really Fucked Up".

For Doctor Who, I'm watching "The Epic Romance of the Doctor and Rose", "You Are Not Alone: The Doctor, Home, and Family", "I Create Myself: Rose Tyler", "The Doctor and Donna: Dynamic Duo", "Life on the Road: Meeting the Universe and its Wonders/Horrors" and "Captain Jack Takes Off His Clothes".

In Smallville, we've got "Another Road to Destiny: Lois and Clark", "The Comedy Stylings of Jimmy Olsen", and "Superman's First Loves: the Twin Tragedies of Clark/Lana and Clark/Lex".

For me, Bones is really "Jack and Angela" with a side order of "Team = Love" while House is either "The Chase Show", "The Wilson Show" or (more recently) the "Amber Kicks Ass" show. Numb3rs is "Colby and David: FBI Agents in Love" with a side of "Charlie Eppes: Math and Hair", "Megan Reeves: Profiler Extraordinare", and "The Eppes Family Variety Hour". Torchwood  is mostly a combination of "Jack + Universe (and everyone/thing in it) = OTP" and "The Gwen Cooper Show" with sides from "Tosh Gets Her Heart Broken", "Owen Grows a Heart", "The Funny, Painful Realism of Gwen/Rhys", and "Jack/Gwen/Ianto = OT3". Supernatural is the "Epic Tale of Two Brothers in Love", of course.

I've got more shows, but this is a bit long as it stands, so I'll leave it here.

Ohh, I like this! *runs off to ponder what she's watching* Back in a while with my answers, or in my own post :)

I too am watching "Captain Jack Takes Off His Clothes." *eg*

And definitely "Superman's First Loves: the Twin Tragedies of Clark/Lana and Clark/Lex," though I've sort of given up on Smallville. I avidly watched up through season four (which hurt me), watched season five on DVD, and I'm figuring I'll maybe get around to someday watching the rest of it.

Torchwood is "The Gwen Cooper Show" to me as well, but this does not actually make me happy. Kind of the opposite.

It's not all about Chase? (Amber is awesome though.)

Wow, we are actually watching THE EXACT SAME BSG. Except now and then I also enjoy an episode of "The Cylon Baseship Variety Hour" and "Tigh Yells At People."

Lee + Democracy = OTP
YES. I really really really love how this is played out.

*steals this meme*

I think we’re watching all the same Doctor Who spinoffs. I can’t say that I’m surprised. :-)

(Well, I might add one more to the list—A Big Yellow Truck: Saving the World Isn’t a One-Person Job.)

Superman First Loves AKA the Twin Tragedies lol. Then again, that's exactly the producers have worded it.

If you're younger than 30 you may not catch this, but I call NUMB3RS "3-2-1 Contact for grown-ups". Personally, I'm not into the relationships of that show as much as the math and religion of it. But that's just me.

What about Due South?

OMG this is the show that I watch and it's brilliant! Although I'm also watching "David Tennant is hot!" show.

Also "Supernatural is the "Epic Tale of Two Brothers in Love", of course." Yeah like it could be any other way. Although to be fair sometimes I confuse show canon with fanfic's canon (what, some of the fics are more real than show) so I can understand how others might not unnecessarily take this leap. Maybe ad "Epic Tale of Two Brothers in "platonic" Love", cause there is no way anyone watching is not watching for the brothers in love even if they don't want to see them kiss ;)

This was an hilarious exercise in perspectives. Thanks!

That's the Dr Who I'm watching!

I'm watching those Whos but also "Last of a Dead Pantheon: The Man, the Myth and the Mystery of how his mates assume the same Legendary Stature". :D

LOL, fabulous article in the link, and fabulous post of your own. Not surprisingly, you and I are watching the same DW shows. (And interestingly, used to watch the same Smallville shows, until I got busy with other fandoms, including one where I was watching a minority show and feeling the frustrating and draining effects of it. Wish I'd seen this essay back then. ;))

I'm definitely going to be pointing people I know to that article; she verbalized so well what so many of us have observed over the years.
