OOOOO. That's intense stuff. On the one hand, if I was Sam, Daniel would be short a pair of balls at the moment. On the other hand, Sam was stupid to not think about affecting the timeline or being more careful (didn't the Egyptians actually have very good birth control methods? I thought I'd read that somewhere).
And I can really see Daniel doing this, being this calculating. It feels like since everyone he really cares for is dead and he's stuck 5000 years in the past, the only thing he has to focus on is not letting things get screwed up more than they have been. I think he'd follow that idea to the exclusion of everything else, even certain moral ethics he'd usually hold to.
Which is pretty much what you wrote him doing, so I guess this rambling is just one big emphatic head-nod. Also means I can stop typing any time now...
