Yes, I never understood either why I have to take sides in fandom. It used to be Star Trek against Star Wars, Star Wars against the LOTR movies, Harry Potter against LOTR and a zillion other combinations.
Quite frankly I enjoy a great many fandoms in very different ways and I enjoy being fannish.
I always find it sad when you have to defend yourself for getting a kick out of something and analysing/posting about it - or just simply going "squeeee" with delight. :-)
