Leia also has a legitimate argument against Han's living in the Now forget the past schtick, it seems Han only gets involved with the past when it only personally affects him.
I agree, but you know what's kind of ironic? I just not so recently finished reading Tatooine Ghost it is a story were Leia learns her father's past while visiting Tatooine in a mission to recover an Aldeeranian painting.
Leia has a very hard time forgiving Anakin and Han is the one who seems to be telling her to lighten up (The only thing Han has a somewhat hard time believing is that Anakin was a good boy as he say's during in one scene of the book "What happened to the little boy who used to tie grenades on a Bantha's tail?" also if I do remember correclty he makes fun of the nickname "Annie" since it doesn't quite suit Vader's evilish reputation).
After finding out her Grandma's diary and Anakin being a slave Leia finds herself in the place were Shmi died and through the force she sees theevnts in Episode II were Anakin slaughters the Tuskens. She is apalled and tells Han who tells her that he understands why Anakin did that. Leia protests Han defending her father and say's "But he was a Jedi knight hje should have known better!" to which he responds something along the lines of "He was a boy with a dead mother, I probably would have done the same"
A little bit later on it is Han who forgives Anakin, which leads to Leia coming into terms with her father.
