I understand how you feel -- I do think that Rose has learned from this. That life doesn't always work out, no matter how badly you want something or how hard you fight for it. A horrible, harsh lesson, but a true one.

But, yes, if the third season is devoid of pathos from the Doctor, I will likely loss interest, as Rose carried much of my heart for the show.
