Oh, hi, Damon! It's convenient of you to be outside moping over Katherine so that you could come to Elena's rescue. I appreciate it.
Damon uses the phrase 'upsy-daisy'. That is hilarious and awesome. And, aw, poor Elena, being all woozy and confessional in the aftermath of her car accident.
Ooo, it was Alaric's first staking. After years of research and study. He handled it pretty well. Good job, Alaric. You're fabulous and I want to keep you.
There is an important dark-haired woman in his life (ah. his wife that died a few months(?) ago. Probably by vampires, since he's all vamp-hunting focused now). Are we flashbacking right now?
...Damon just took Elena on a road trip (without her permission).
Elena-Damon scenes are awesome. He's surprisingly... flexible about her. She tells him to pull over and he rolls his eyes and pulls over. He's definitely not a push-over (he's obviously planning on going to that little town in Georgia not matter what) but he's willing to make accommodations.
(also, he answers other people's phones the same way that I do)
Bonnie and Stefan in a scene! I like them interacting.
(also, how is Bonnie not having guys focused on and interested in her? She's really hot and ten kinds of adorable plus she's on the cheerleading team, which some guys like)
Bree's Bar has Gina Torres! Gina! Yay! Hello! I had no clue you would be appearing in this show! Awesome.
Damon slept with Gina's character twenty years ago when she was in college (and he is, apparently, really awesome in bed. Thanks for the info, show). Gina Torres (possibly named 'Bree' in this universe)! You have very good taste, Damon, because Gina Torres is awesome and hot and fantastic.
Hmm, Anna-that-Jeremy-just-met-cute is wearing a fancy ring. Fancy rings always seem to mean something in this universe.
Ah, now that the powers are gone, Bonnie wants them back. Isn't it always that way? And we learn that being afraid can block a witch's powers.
Eeep! I don't want Bonnie to fall down holes and get hurt. You stay safe, Bonnie!

And we learn just how much more effective Damon's mojo is than Stefan's (again) when Jeremy is so completely blanked on vampires and the horrible tragic stuff that Damon made him forget.
Damon... are you worried about Elena going missing? You are, look at you. You are totally worried.
Ah, revenge on Damon for killing Lexie. Man, that vampire grapevine is pretty effective.
And now Elena is concerned about Damon.
History between Stefan and Bonnie's grandmother! That's pretty neat.
Ooo. Yeah, I could have warned Bree that betraying Damon would end horribly for her (if he survived).
So, Damon took Elena on a trip, was concerned about her at various points, and not once used compulsion on her.
E: "I saved your life."
D: "I know."
E: "And don't you forget it."
Hmm, adoption drama. More honesty from Stefan! He was totally a stalker for a while (but he was trying to make sure she wasn't secretly an evil vampire).
Of course it was Damon who killed Alaric's wife. *sigh* Oh, Damon, why must you?
Did Jeremy just invite in an undead pizza boy? Possibly.
... I know that Elena's all 'protective big sis' but sometimes honesty is the best protection.
So, Caroline finally gets vervain and it's Elena who gives it to her. Not her mom, who knows that she's been attacked by a vampire at least once. Oh, Caroline's mom... you kinda suck.
But yay Elena!
Someone flirting with Bonnie! About time! (is he going to be evil?)
"I'll be with the two of you. I'll be safe."
Yeah, she trusts Damon now, doesn't she? Hmm (they did just have a bonding road trip. During which he killed someone, though she probably doesn't know that, specifically).
Hee, Caroline and Bonnie bonding over wanting to kill Damon.
And Anna is a vampire. I wonder how long she's been in town. There seem to be a few more of them still there than Damon and Stefan realized.
More vampires that know Katherine (... is every guy that Katherine ever met obsessed with her?).
So, Alaric's former wife was named Isabel and had dark hair. Elena's mother was named Isabel and Elena has dark hair.
Aw, Matt and Caroline. Cute.
Damn, the boy that was hitting on Bonnie is a vampire.
It sounds like these were the vampires that made Logan (and made him such a mess).
Also, Elena, you may not trust Damon with lots of other things, but you do trust him with your life.
More flashbacks! Awesome.
Damon watching (and then interrupting) Stefan and Elena's snuggly time. Ha.
You know, I just thought of something. Damon said that he was on board with Katherine all the way and that she never compelled him. So... was he also on board with the undead incestuous threesome idea that Katherine seemed to be leaning toward? Hmm.
...yeah, I think Damon might be into that idea.
Hmm, all kinds of interesting in this flashback.
Papa Salvatore, this is one of the reasons that honesty is important! Tell your sons the truth before... you know, they get seduced by a powerful vampire. Also, give them some vervain in their food. Sheesh.
Damon cooking dinner is kinda awesome.
Man, the episode got all kinds of intense ("I'll snap her neck and you and I will have a vampire girlfriend.") and Bonnie in danger, too. Eeep.
Did Damon just smell Elena's hair before he handed her back over to Stefan?
So, Anna (whose mother (mother or 'mother'?) is trapped in the tomb along with Katherine) has now taken Elena. Who still has Stefan's blood in her system (and it's Emily who made it possible for Katherine and her group of vamps to walk around in the daylight).
Yeah, Damon isn't happy with people who betray him.
So, Bonnie and Elena are together. Maybe they'll be able to cook up some kind of plan.
Or Stefan can rescue them. That works, too. (I like that they tried to escape)
"He's angry."
"He's hurt. There's a difference."
She offers to let Damon compel her to tell the truth and he doesn't take her up on it, puts the necklace back around her neck instead.
"I didn't compel you in Atlanta because we were having fun. I wanted it to be real."
And then he and Stefan are arguing it up down in the tomb when they can't find Katherine but Elena comes down and Damon looks at her... and he's coming back up.
The whole story of Anna wanting her mom back is pretty touching, actually. Even with the murders and the violence.
Matt and Caroline continue to be adorable.
Aw, Elena hugging Damon was very sweet (even with, etc.). He looks pretty broken right now. 150 years he was thinking about getting Katherine out of that tomb and she wasn't even in there.
Man, poor Damon. All this time, Katherine's been out, she just didn't give a shit about seeing him.
Oh, Sheila. Man, she was awesome. And, damn, a starving old vampire is loose.

Yeah, Damon was very much in the know about things back in the day - which makes his insistence on honesty interesting. YES, I AM ABOUT TO KILL YOU, BUT AT LEAST I AM NOT GOING BEHIND YOUR BACK.

Methinks that Stefan was the only one not aware of the potential incestuous threesome, and has since figured it out and is likely still dealing with the fact that NOBODY ELSE HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT. 0.o = Stefan.
I mean, at this point? I think ELENA has definitely worked it out.
Bonnie needs to get hit on by boys that are not evil and who are interested in her not just because they think she might be a delicious snack. Although, that does not work out for vampires, as you have seen. *g*

I think you just used up all the understatement that 2010 had left in it. And may have made inroads into the understatement that has been reserved for 2011.
