Really liked it. There were a couple of clunky moments, but overall, it worked well.

Mickey was just as great in this episode as the last one, and I liked the way his story wrapped up. I'm not sure if I believe that we won't see him again (because something once broken can be more easily broken the second time), but I liked where we left him. But, yeah, Mickey's right when he says that Rose doesn't need him. She's been afraid of not having that safety net that Mickey represents, but, as Tara would say, it's time to work without the net. Having adventures... doing what Rose is doing... she'll never be 'normal' after all that. The Doctor changes people, inspires them (kinda reminds me of Buffy that way -- making people better, making people want to be heroes).

Felt so for Rose, of course, because I always do. I can understand why she was so hurt (and yet can understand why Pete reacted the way he did -- he's never had a daughter, doesn't know what having a daughter feels like. He doesn't know this girl, and he's just lost his wife). I liked that they went all the way and turned Jackie into a Cyberman.  I like that this story reversed the Pete/Jackie situation in our world, that he's the one who lives, here. I liked the ending, both with Jake and Mickey, and with the Doctor taking Rose back home to give her mom a hug.

Speaking of the Doctor and Rose, I loved them in this episode. Rose saying, flat out, that she's going to do this thing, and the Doctor knowing he can't stop her, so just being willing to support her, and the level of knowledge and friendship between them in that moment (and the hug! That sweet 'good luck' hug!). They were simply lovely, throughout the episode.

ITA. Lovely episode overall, but a few clunky, awkward bits. Also agree on Mickey's story. I felt it honoured the character - who's been treated as the rather feeble comic relief a bit too often for my liking.

Finally, Tennant in a DJ? *thud* He would be absolutely perfect for the role of Adam Adamant if a remake is ever made.
