I had a real hard time liking Daniel Jackson from Stargate. It was only after the millionth rewtch of the series that I finally began to understand him.

I don't know if this is the case, but I got the feeling that lot of my dislike was relly case of some writers and directors not really get his character and the ctor while not wanting to ignore what they'd told him to do, at the same time knowing his character and having to act a certain way.

After I got this in my head I came to really like him as a character. And just ignore the episodes where his character seemed to be slightly OOC.
