I have successfully installed a replacement keyboard on my laptop! Yay! My shift keys work without insane workarounds. My 'a' no longer sticks. 'Enter' no longer requires twice the force of every other key. Yay!
Yeah, I want to know the difficulty level too. My keyboard isn't going to last forever and I'd like some hope that it won't mean the loss of this computer, and more importantly XP.
It's really easy. I'll cut and paste what I did: I just had to undo two screws in the back and there's the bit above the keyboard that pops right off (This is attached to the hinge cover -- that's the bit that gets unscrewed). Then you just have to unscrew the keyboard from the inside of the computer and yank out the connector.
