Ooooh, job-hunting. Best of luck!

Damn. You've reminded me that I had all these good intentions last night of starting a serious job-hunt myself (because...I've been stagnating in this one for far too long already) and the first stage of that revolved around buying the local paper on my way into work because the jobs are in it today, and I completely forgot. Great start!

It's been a while since I changed jobs now, but at one stage I was an old hand, and one bit of advice I can give is that it's much easier to find a job if you already have one - less pressure, you know! Take your time, browse around to see what's out there. You could get lucky and have something perfect just hit you between the eyes the moment you start looking, but chances are you'll have to search for a while before you find something that really suits you.

And interviews are easier the more relaxed you are. Obvious, but true. The job I have now, I sailed through the interview because a) I'd just moved house and as part of that process threw out every scrap of information about all the jobs I'd recently applied for, which meant that when I was then invited to interview I had no actual clue what I was being interviewed for! and b) it was a glorious day and I just wanted to be out of there and in the sunshine again. Somehow that combination worked out as total relaxation, and it convinced them I was all confident and capable and perfect for the job!

Doubt I'll ever manage that again...

Anyway, best of luck with the job hunt. Maybe we'll both get lucky.
